Get the look

PARTY TIME

Do you like Parties? I know I do and I always stress my self out with trying to get my hair and makeup right. But the most stressful aspect is the outfit. I have a love and hate relationship with shopping for a party dress because for one, I don’t want to wear a dress that someone else might wear and I don’t want to be over dressed, but, I do enjoy the pimping and transformation that allows me to go from regular everyday girl to maximum mean-green-party-machine.

Before i go out to buy an outfit i put together a mock up of an out fit that i want to wear, in this case i have been inspired by Jessi J her style and creativity give me ideas on what i can wear for my big night, Plus it saves me loads of time so i can zip out and go on my spending mission and know exactly what i want to buy.

Feel comfortable and confident in what you wear for a party at home or a special night out.

5 tips for great looks

1. Black is always a safe, slimming option for party wear but it doesn’t have to be boring. It’s easy to make your outfit eye catching with texture so why not try sequins, feathers or velvet?

2. Try alternative party wear, i.e. not dresses. Hobbs and Reiss have black velvet trousers;
jaeger has black tuxedo jumpsuits which are really interesting options, perfect for the festive season.

3. Let your personality shine with a bold party shoe! If you’re nervous about what’s appropriate for the office Christmas party, but you want to stand out from the crowd, spice up that LBD with a pair of platinum pumps or embellished ankle boots.

4. The key to completing an outfit is accessorising, however there are rules! If your outfit is vibrant and busy then it is worth toning down the accessories and opting for plain yet elegant jewellery and a simple clutch. On the other hand, if your outfit is classic and without multiple colours and embellishment, then definitely jazz up the accessories. A statement necklace with oversized sequined clutch will work perfectly.

5. If you don’t pick your dream dress because you’re worried about your figure; a pair of control wear panties will cover a multitude of sins and help you to look fabulous.

Savvy tip -
If you want to cover your shoulders go for a scarf you can wear as a wrap, or a bolero cardigan. No matter how slinky or sparkly a regular mid-length or long cardigan is, it just won’t flatter the curvaceous lines of an evening dress.
